Installing Virtual Painter 4 for Adobe Photoshop Elements 6

1. Run the setup file to start installation program. Once the InstallShield Wizard window appears, click Next.

2. Click and select "I accept the terms in the license agreement", then click Next.

3. Click Next.

4. Click Change to open Change Current Destination Folder window.

5. Here, you need to specify the plugin folder of Photoshop Elements 6. By default, it would be

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\Plug-Ins\

Specify the folder above and click OK.

6. Click Next.

7. Click Install to start copying the files.

8. Click Finish to exit the installation program.

9. Electronic Registration window appears. Click Skip to close the window.

10. Congratulations! Now you are ready to use Virtual Painter 4.

11. Start Photoshop Elements 6 and open any full color image. Select Filter > Virtual Painter > Virtual Painter 4 to open Virtual Painter 4 main window.

If you don't see Virtual Painter under the Filter menu...

The plugin folder has not been specified properly. For example, this can happen if you installed your Photoshop Elements 6 into other folder than default. Please make sure where your Photoshop Elements 6 is currently installed and specify its plugin folder properly.

 
Virtual Painter under the Filter menu is dimmed (in gray) and you can't select it...
  • No images are open. Please open an image before you start Virtual Painter 4.
  • Or, current image has only 256 colors or less. For example, GIF format image has only 256 colors. Virtual Painter 4 does not support 256 colors or less images. Please select Image > Mode > RGB Color to convert it into full color image.
  • Or, current image has 16Bits/Channel color. Virtual Painter 4 does not support 16Bits/Channel color images. Please select Image > Mode > 8Bits/Channel to convert it into 8Bits/Channel image.
Virtual Painter 4 still does not work...
